How To Find A Job Online
The recent economic decline has led to many job losses. Millions of people are struggling to find jobs. The easiest place to find a job online is to search for job postings at popular job sites. This article shows you how to find a job at popular job search sites.
Instructions
Things you'll need:
- Job sites
- Resume
- Internet
1. The first thing you need to do is determine what kind of job you are looking for you. You also need to write a professional resume stating your objectives, education, work experience, certifications, affiliations and references. Most job sites require you to upload a resume when you apply for a job.
2. Google these keywords 'find a job online' and a number of popular job sites will be listed. You can also search for careerbuilder.com, monster.com, yahoo hot jobs, indeed.com, craiglist.com, simply hired.com and usajobs.gov. These are all popular sites to find a job. Visit every website and do a job search using the keyword of the job you are applying for. For example, if you are a doctor, search the keyword 'doctor' and do not forget to narrow the results by the location.
3. Once you find a job you like, apply directly. Upload your resume. Most websites require you to first register for membership at the website before applying for the job. Craigslist is the only place that does not require this. Note down the phone numbers of hiring manager or recruiter of every company you send your resume to. Call all the companies to make sure they have received your resume. Make sure you are able to speak with the hiring manager or recruiter. Inform them of the resume you sent and ask them to look at and consider you for the position.
Tips & Warnings
- Do not just send a resume and expect to receive a call immediately. Remember that there are thousands of people applying for the same position. The only way to stand out is to call the hiring managers to make sure they have your resume.
I have a bachelor's degree in computing but can't find a job!?
I have a Bsc degree in computing. I got my degree in 2008 and got my first job in 2009 which lasted 1 year. It means that I am unemployed for the last 2 years.
I mostly apply jobs online over reed, monster, jobserve, gumtree, linkedin, etc.
sometimes I got an interview but nothing goes any further.
Now I am willing to work for national minum wage for the jobs in computing, however I am afraid that it may make the employer think that I am undervaluing my self. so maybe £16000 or £18000? bytheway I am targeting for web developer or seo jobs.
what should I do? I have an online portoflio, plus 4 different kinds of c.v.
