Why Do Women Talk and Talk... and Talk...?
Okay, I agreed to go on a trip to Seattle with a female friend as a source of unpaid body-guarding -_-"
That on its own would have been okay, but that wasn't all that my job description entailed apparently. From the first moment we entered the car, she began to talk.
About the distance.
About the scenery.
About the the city.
About politics.
About her friends.
About... everything.
Now, during this trip of several hours, she may have said several thousand sentences.
I on the other hand, MAYBE said fifteen. Most of which were meant to display the fact that I was still awake.
This, I've gathered, is not an anomaly in her regular behavior too. I can't tell you how many times I've laid awake in a room, attempting to fall asleep while she and a friend talked endlessly about a show (half of the conversation seemed centered around questions to each other about what the hell they just missed as they were talking) and then the next show... and then the next...
I can say with some certainty that this is semi-regular behavior between all women. I grew up in an environment in which I was nearly drowning in estrogen. My parents had divorced one-another when I was very young and my mother was awarded full custody of me... and my two older sisters.
There's times when I'm genuinely surprised I learned to talk at all.
It's not as if I was given ample time to try between their avalanche of questions, "Can you say [word]?" and then, before I was given a chance to answer, "No, you say it, '[word]'!"
So I ask a simple question now, as I sit in a chair STILL being engaged in a conversation I'm not technically a part of, "Why do women insist on talking so much? Why can I literally sit in a group for HOURS without uttering a single word, and they cannot go five minutes without doing so?"
Is that a fair question? Is it?!
Please, tell me it is...
Also, why the hell do women ask me if I want something and then ignore the answer?
We stop at a gas station.
Her: "Do you want a [product]?"
Me: "I'm fine, thanks."
Her: "I know you're fine, but do you want one?"
Me: "I'm okay."
Her: "I know you're okay, but do you want one?"
Me: -_- "...No thank you..."
Her: "...Are you sure?"
I have no problems with bullsh** answers, but it would be nice to hear (preferably from women who do this) genuine and germane answers as well. I'm really confused here.
EDIT:
No, I'm a gentleman; That's how I was raised.
Therefore, I'm not going to badger her until she's reduced to a blubbering mess of tears -_-
EDIT:
This is not meant to be a debate about, "superior gender."
Let's be adults. We're meant to complement the other, not be superior -_-
Allen:
I know right? Even if it isn't during a fight :/
