How To Find Job Listings
So you're out of work? No worries. It doesn't matter how long it's been. Here are some tips on how to land yourself that career you've been waiting for.
Juggling all of life's daily activities and searching for a job might leave you a little bewildered. The first thing you need to do is get organized. I find that If i clean my house up and make it look a bit less cluttered, my mind will be less cluttered as well. Take off those pajamas, get cleaned up and get into the job searching mode!
Traditionally, the only place you could go to find job listings was your local newspaper. Employers still post ads in your paper so be sure to check there. Every plan helps!
However, with the invention of the Internet, employers have become more web savvy and are posting their jobs on line. If you haven't looked on the Internet you've been missing out! There are also a number of Newspaper websites that you can check. These can be even more tremendous of a resource than the regular Newspapers for one reason: Search! Instead of browsing and flipping through pages for hours you can bring all the jobs you want to you. Newspaper websites often post special jobs in their Weekend Editions and advice columns that can aid you in your job search. Find some directories and listings of new papers near you and search for them in the search engines. Chicagotribune.com or latimes.com are good examples of these types of websites. Go ahead! Check them out and familiarize yourself with the layout, I'll wait...OK done? Good. Let's move along.
There are also websites that do nothing but find you jobs. These special websites do nothing but search for jobs for you. Sites like these offer millions of jobs ranging from a massive variety of expertise. They also allow you to post your resume so employers can contact YOU. Don't worry, they range from all different kinds of qualifications and incomes, so you won't be left in the dark. Even though you have the paper at home, these websites often have much different content than the paper. Here's a list of a few websites you can go to upload your resume and find a job.
CareerBuilder.com SnagaJob.com Hotjobs.Yahoo.com Monster.com Flipdog.com Jobs.aol.com Job.com TechCrunch.com
and there are many more out there if you search hard enough. Try going to Yahoo!, Google, Lycos, Altavista, Ask or any other search engine and type in: "Find a job". Most of these sites require you to set up an account, but not to worry, they won't sell your information to anybody. They ultimately want you to find jobs through them so they can get paid by the Job poster.
Still not finding any relevant results? Try defining your search a little bit more. I know this might seem like common sense to some of you Internet savvy people, but remember: Not everyone uses the Internet all the time. If you're interested in carpentry, try searching "Carpentry Jobs". Also, include the nearest major city. This will produce some more optimal results.

I cannot find a job, help please?
I am having a lot of trouble finding a part-time job. Every summer I apply to multiple jobs (sometimes up to a dozen different places) and I do not even get a call-back for an interview. I have also tried to apply to jobs at my university. I am afraid that having no job experience will make it hard to be accepted into grad school, or to even get a full-time job in the future. Does anyone have any advice?
